Calabazas Creek Research Inc. (CCR) is developing a THz gyrotron with repetitive pulse capability. The gyrotron is designed to produce radiation up to 5kW in 10 microsecond pulses from 650GHz to 1THz at the fundamental cyclotron resonance and between 1THz and 2THz at the second harmonic. The magnetic field is provided by a pulsed solenoid producing up to 37 Tesla. The solenoid is expected to operate at pulse repetition rates of about 1Hz. A new magnet design and tests of the magnet and gyrotron will be reported.
