To recognize their full commercial potential in energy storage and clean tech applications novel ceramic and metal materials have been developed which improve functional performance, increase durability, and lengthen the life cycle of capacitors, batteries, fuel cells and solar cells. This paper will highlight some of these recent developments and discuss the design, fabrication and characterization of several specific dielectric ceramic and metal/metal oxide materials.
