Lubricant-Infused Urinary Catheters Prevent Bacterial Colonization In A Rat Model

Lubricant-infused urinary catheters (LIUC) designed in this study have shown to effectively prevent bacterial colonization in vivo and reduce protein adsorption in vitro. Our results demonstrate that creating LIUC can provide an attractive and non-selective option for HAUTI prevention and ultimately reduce antibiotic administration.
