In summary, improved pharmacokinetic properties of PEGylated stem cell mobilizing peptide potentiated therapeutic angiogenesis in diabetic hindlimb ischemia by inducing synergistic effect of endogenous stem cell mobilization and immune modulation. Thus, PEGylated stem cell mobilizing peptide is expected to be useful as highly effective stem cell-free therapy agents for chronic inflammatory disease as well as diabetic complications and ischemic diseases such as ulcer, myocardial infarction, and retinopathy.
