Conclusions: We have demonstrated the capability of the MAP scaffold to create heterogeneous tissue response through the novel use of D-chirality MMP-sensitive peptide crosslinked particles. Corroborating evidence via a genetic knockout mouse model and D-chirality targeted antibody presence have confirmed the immunomodulation is mediated by a T-cell dependent response. For a wound healing scaffold, this allows modulation of immune-mediated degradation and replacement with regenerated tissue.
