Design and Construction of the Rich Street Bridge over the Scioto River, Columbus, Ohio

The newly constructed Rich Street Bridge is a landmark structure spanning the Scioto River in Columbus,Ohio. The new bridge is a 5-span, 563 foot long modern rib arch structure, designed to be pedestrianfriendlyand to accommodate festival events. The configuration of the new bridge was selected inresponse to design criteria set by community representatives requiring that the bridge compliment thesurrounding “family” of arch bridges while respecting the character of the surrounding area.
