Aiming at the problem of damaged pipeline corrosion protection, the propagation characteristics of oblique incident wave in single layer and double layer were studied. Three kinds of different frequency probes were placed on damage coating steel plate, intact coating steel plate and damage coating boundary. The three groups of experimental amplitude and the difference of nonlinear were obtained when the frequencies are not the same. The results show that when the frequency is 5MHz, the amplitude of the damage coating steel plate is larger than the intact coating steel plate. And the attenuation of amplitude in the intact coating steel plate is about 1/3, the nonlinearity is not obvious. When the probe is placed on the damage coating boundary, the echo signal is obviously nonlinear. The damage detection of steel plate corrosion protection layer can be carried out based on oblique incidence ultrasonic waves.
