Currently, the industrial production of surface texturing for multi-crystalline silicon solar cells is mostlikely using acidic texturing technique. But the reflectance of acidic-textured surface of multi-crystalline wafers isrelatively high (~23%) due to its natural limit – grain boundary and non-orientation etching, as compared to mon°Crystallinealkaline texturing wafers (~12%) which have pyramid surface structure to enhance light capturing. Toreduce multi-crystalline surface reflectance, dry texturing, such as RIE, is very helpful but the cost of ownership isthe major concern. In this study, a cost-effective chemical wet texturing technique is proposed. Additional additiveand optimized chemical cleaning are applied to form nano-structure in acidic-textured surface, which results insignificant surface reflectance reduction to ~16%. Such low reflectance is close to mono-crystalline alkaline-texturedsurface and further improved cell efficiency of 0.3% absolute. Detailed pr°Cess and cell performance will bediscussed.
