摘要

In this article the design, realization and the performance evaluation of optical structures in solar modules arepresented. The work aims on redirecting light within a PV module to avoid light loss due to reflections on themetallization grid and the interspace regions between the single cells. A ray tracing software was used to designstructures which can be implemented by hot embossing into the front and back sheet of a polycarbonate based solarmodule. Based on the simulation results test modules were fabricated and characterized by means of I-Vmeasurements. The results show the usability of ray tracing software for light management purposes in solar modulesand point toward a low cost performance improvement for solar modules.
