This contribution presents our recent progress on developing an efficient fully-nonlinear potential flow model for simulating the propagation of 3D directional wave fields. This model is based on the High Order Spectral (HOS) formalism in the consistent form of West et al. (1987). The recent parallelization of the code exhibits high speed-up and gives access to fast computations of the fully-nonlinear evolutions of large domains over long period of times. The extreme waves formation is investigated and more particularly the influence of nonlinearities (through mean steepness or Benjamin-Feir Index) on these occurrences.
