The goal of this paper is to introduce a method for noise cancelling of the solenoid valves part of the High Pressure Fuel Pump (HPFP) used for Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) engine systems. Furthermore, specific electronic control and appropriate hardware solutions are presented in order to offer a stable valve closing time independent on system parameters such as variable battery voltage and engine bay temperature. Specific electronic control solutions are required to ease the pressure control and noise cancelling algorithm.
