One of the most indicated reasons for ERP implementation failure is that the organization failed to recognize the impact the system would have on business processes. A possible solution to this could be to use an approach focusing on process change when implementing ERP systems. In this research paper, we take a look at Enterprise Resource Planning systems implementation from a Business Process Management point of view. It attempts to improve ERP implementations, which are frequently unsuccessful, with insight provided through the BPM Paradigm. The focus lies on the phases and activities in the two concepts as well as defined success factors which targeting the similar objectives. The data collection was conducted in the form of interviews with respondents from two companies in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia that conducts ERP implementations. It was concluded that the first four phases of BPM fit the frameworks of ERP implementation. What authors found interesting is findings suggesting the main enabling activity to be process modelling. Also CFS for ERP and BPM were compared, and the conclusion is that both are targeting similar aspects-operational business processes.
