A distinct bubble structure in a 230 kHz field has been observed and analyzed. Two bubble size populations have been identified, and their properties have been assessed by direct optical highspeed observations, phase resolved sonoluminescence measurements, and cleaning tests. The population of bigger bubbles shows striking similarities to bubble array structures observed by Miller at 1 MHz [3,4]. Therefore, it is expected that similar bubble structures and properties can be observed in a larger frequency range, although the scaling of stability limits and Bjerknes forces might lead to an ultimate change in quality. Details of the structure, the cleaning action, the scaling properties, and the possibilities of a numerical and quantitative simulation still have to be explored in future work.
