In this paper, the Differential Space-Time Block Code (DSTBC) modulation is applied to the downlink transmission of the WCDMA system to enhance system performance in fast-varying time-dispersive channels. The effect of scrambling operation is also considered to improve correlation between users' signal. Among the receivers presented here, the differential space-time block code deterministic de-prefix combined (D-Det-DP-C) receiver shows the best performance. Since DSTBC-WCDMA is a differential modulation scheme, the best performance is obtained under the condition that the receiver has complete information regarding the interferers to minimize the effect of multipath and multi-user interference.
