As several general-purpose peer-to-peer platforms have been developing in recent years, it is required that the peer-to-peer platforms should provide reasonable security services to their applications. For the platform security, it is quite important to choose the security mechanisms and protocols (e.g. TLS etc.) as its fundamentals on which the characteristics and performance of the peer-to-peer platform depend. In this paper, we will introduce a study of applying XML Signature and Encryption to the security architecture over the proposed peer-to-peer platform developed by Peer-to-peer Universal Computing Consortium (PUCC).
