We present a super-lightweight (<0.05 g) flexible device for wireless optogenetic stimulation that utilizes photolithography microfabrication methods and manual flip-chip bonding for flexible substrates. Over 5 mW/mm2of adjustable optical power can be obtained, exceeding the expectation of optogenetic stimulation (>1 mW/mm2 [1]). Deformation curvature of the receiving device and biological tissue block thickness between the transmitting device and the receiving device have been evaluated to have negligible influence on the output electrical power. Temperature increase of the device is less than 2°C after 10 minutes of continuous working, which guarantees low phototoxicity.
