Designing A Cooperative Learning System: A Scenario and Participatory Design Based Approach

A successful design of information system relies on the clarity of user requirements and the close matching of requirements and the adopted technologies. Aiming at comprehensively acquiring user requirements to improve the total quality and user satisfaction of information system, an integrated design approach to developing information system is presented. First of all, the notions of scenario and participatory design are reviewed respectively. Secondly, a method for designing the internet-based information system is developed by using scenario based design method and participatory design method. At last, a case study of a cooperative learning system is conducted, by which the practicability and effectiveness of the method is validated.
