Research on the Factors of 3D Printing Forming Time Based on G-Code File

FDM is one of the most widely used 3D printing techniques. This paper mainly studies the impact of different ways of placement, different cross-sectional areas and different molding angles on the molding time of 3D printing models. Using cuboids as the research models, cuboids with three different ways of placement, cuboids with different cross-sectional areas and cuboids with different molding angles were printed respectively by using HORI Z300 fused deposition modeling 3D printer. By analyzing G-code file, the effects of the above three factors on the 3D printing forming time were studied. The results showed that the model was placed horizontally, and the model with a larger cross-sectional area be placed parallel to the x-y surface, avoiding 30 and 60 molding Angle, which could shorten the forming time of the model and improve the printing efficiency.
