摘要

This paper proposes a novel system design for the detection of human fall by means of a newly designed capacitive acceleration sensor possessing a liquid dielectric. The sensor detects the fall and dispatches a warning signal to the emergency services in the vicinity for support. Here the location of the fall along with the information such as the direction, magnitude of the fall, the auditory data received and other essential details obtained during descend are sent as an MMS via GSM module interfaced. In absolute conditions the sensor measures the acceleration in all directions with almost equal accuracy. Here an intermediate quantity to measure acceleration namely thickness of the fluid dielectric, is used for the measurement purposes of the degree of fall. The complete system is managed with the microcontroller, which along with the microphone, GPS, GSM and output interface, like LCD or touch screen, give subsequent relay of data stream to the SOS services after the recognition of the tumble. Thus, implementing this automated system assures a foolproof detection of a human fall.
