Author has emphasized for reducing the losses under various heads such as bagasse, press cake/press mud, final molasses and undetermined losses thereby increasing the recovery % cane. Particular attention has been drawn for finding the nature of undetermined losses (unknown losses) which will help in reducing these losses.
