A new combined technique is presented that combines an existing rheometer AR-G2 and differential scanning calorimeter (Q2000 Tzero™ DSC) into a single experimental setup. This opens new experimental possibilities to study reacting polymer systems and crystallization of polymers. Thermosetting polymers polymerize and are shaped in one step. In order to control the processing, knowledge of the reaction kinetics as function of time and temperature, as well as the thermo mechanical changes due to reaction are crucial. RheoDSC enables measuring unambiguously the relation between time, temperature, conversion and visco-elastic behavior, this is measured at the same time on the same sample (see figure 1).
