摘要

As high-rise cities embrace a low-carbon paradigm, vehicle integrated photovoltaics (VIPV) have emerged as an emerging field. However, both the tall buildings in the city and mobility of the car would result in variation in solar radiation received by VIPV. Hence, this paper aims to quantify this variability through an experimental and simulation approach in quantifying the solar radiation received on a car roof in a tropical environment. Results indicate that buildings in the north-south orientation along the road has less impact than east-west oriented buildings. In addition, the impact of rain and cloud cover on irradiance was quantified and discussed.
