An Empirical Study of Multilingual Electronic Meetings Using Smart Devices

In a previous study comparing multilingual meetings on a simulated smart device with the moretraditional, desktop interface, results showed group members were able to comprehendcomments equally well and did not think there was a significant difference between theinterfaces in terms of ease-of-use. In this paper, for the first time, groups used actual mobile,smart devices in a comparison with desktop computers to discuss a topic in multilingualmeetings. Results show that, as in the prior study, there was no significant difference between thetwo types of meetings in terms of comprehension, ease of use, and usability.
