Green urban mobility enhanced by Copenhagen’s new ITS partnership

The City of Copenhagen (Denmark) aims at being the first CO2 neutral Capital in the Worldby 2025. The City Council has taken important steps towards achieving this. As the transportsector counts for approximately 22 % of the total amount of all carbon emissions, inevitably,the transport sector must contribute to the CO2 reduction. A recent tender for ITS and trafficsignals opens new opportunities for reaching the goal through innovative cooperation betweenpublic sector and private industry. The paper will reveal some of the discussions behind thechoices made by the City of Copenhagen in this tender awarded to Peek Traffic - Imtech ITS.
