A Word from the Chair of SIGEVO

Welcome to the Proceedings of GECCO-2012, the fourteenth GECCO, and a "recombination" of the 21th International Conference on Genetic Algorithms (ICGA) and the 17th Genetic Programming Conference (GP). This year, Jason Moore has acted with great energy and diligence as General Chair of GECCO-2012. Terry Soule, the Editor-in-Chief of GECCO-2012 has done a terrific job at keeping the tracks on track and the reviewing process going and leading the effort to select papers for publication. Finally, as a first this year, we have created the position of a Proceedings Chair. Anne Auger did a great job tending to the details of this year's proceedings with results that you can inspect here.
