Development of Taiwan's SMEs and Its Apocalypse

Taiwan is a region with developed SMEs and a typical example of SME development. SMEs play an important role and become a primary force in the development of Taiwan after the war. And after financial crisis in 1998, the development of SMEs in Taiwan grows healthier. There are 1. 232 million SMEs by 2009, which accounts for 97. 91% share of the total number of the enterprises, provides post accounting for 75%, and create sales of 30. 65% as well as export of 16. 88%. Based on the review of the development of SMEs and with the comparison between across Taiwan Strait, the successful experiences and its apocalypse to mainland China are explored.
