The mould filling process and solidification grain structure of TiAl blade by counter gravity casting have been simulated. The fluid field results indicate that an appropriate size of gate can avoid the formation of the regions of jet and vortex. The pouring temperature and mould temperature have no significant effects on the mould filling rate,but will benefit the stable filling of the molten metal) while the pressure rise rate has apparent influences on the filling of the mould. The full columnar grain structure is obtained by a three-dimensional cellular automaton model coupled with finite-element heat flow calculation.
