摘要

Container shipping is a major part of freight transportation in urban areas. Due to the different logistics modes, same port container throughput may lead to large differences in not only traffic volume within the city road network but the impact of urban transportation. This paper will classify the transportation mode from goods sourcing destinations to ports according to logistical processes. Truck trips produced by a twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU) on urban road system of various modes are also analyzed. This is the way to calculate the total trips by using port container throughput data. In the end, Tianjin Port was used as an example having a variety of logistic modes. Quantitative analysis was used to determine the relationship between the port container throughput and the truck trips produced on the road, to verify the accuracy practicability of this method.
