摘要

Among existing methods for the evaluation of transportation modes, there is ambiguity due to lacking of objectivity and accuracy of determining the weights of various performance measures. In this paper, fuzzy matter-element model with discrete catastrophe theory is established to solve this problem. On the basis of data quantization with fuzzy-matter element, membership values are calculated with catastrophe evaluation according to the structure of evaluating system as well as relative importance and logical relationship of each index. Then a decision can be made accordingly. In the process of catastrophe evaluation, discrete coefficient is introduced to further improve the objectivity and accuracy of evaluation results. In the end of this paper, a case of transportation mode in Yangtze River corridor is put forward to explain the application of this method, which provides a new approach of synthetic evaluation for transportation modes.
