China, a country with over 1.3 billion habitants in 2010, is on the way to become a motorized society. The population and the traffic are concentrated in the mega cities in a belt along the east coast of China. This trend will be enhanced by the movement of the people from the countryside to the mega cities. The urbanization rate of China rose from 2002 to 2010 from 39% to 50% and is increasing. Germany has an urbanization rate of 74% in 2010.
