摘要

In this work, artificial ECM protein substrates that can mimic natural skin were designed and prepared. We showed that the cell-binding domains presented within our artificial ECM proteins supported skin keratinocyte attachment and proliferation in vitro. Using electrospinning, porous substrates were also generated. We showed that variations in nanofiber diameter, alignment of fibers within the scaffold influenced cellular behaviour. Hence, artificial ECM proteins demonstrate promise for use as artificial skin substrates in substitute skin.
