The static and dynamic behaviour of stiffened plates

摘要

The paper presents a brief historical review of some of the landmarks in understanding the behaviour of plated structures including both the static and dynamic behaviour of plates. It then illustrates aspects of the behaviour of stiffened plates by reference to the results of non-linear analysis concentrating on stiffened compression flanges and webs of the type that are found in steel bridge structures.
