A lot of thetidal gate were built since the establislnent of our country,making the most of the estuaries under control.The tidal gate plays an important role in flood control and drainage halogen block tide and irrigation.In the meantime,it also changes the hydrodynamic conditions of the estuary,causes the gate port way siltation,raises the riverbed,reduce the discharge area and the flood discharge capacity of the tidal gate sharply.For many years,a lot of experiments and exploration work are made to reduce the gate port way siltation,such as using upstream water,tidal power and different monitoring methods.Hydraulic silting and scouring are the most direct,cost-effective method by using upstream water,which brought out more sediment by increasing the amount and velocity of low tide,reduced the tide out of sediment by reducing the amount and velocity of high tide.The water source should be made full use of water saving sihing and scouring,keeping the main channel unobstructed in nonflood season.It should be use every chance of the silting and scouring to expand the river section in flood season.At the end of the flood season,it should make full use of tail water and increase the silting and scouring strength to improve the silting and scouring effect.The silting and scouring between the brake group combining with actual conditions,should be in line with the principle that "the scheduling concentration and external water rushed down,take turns the high water rushed,flood season clear from the top and discharging water continuous blunt" to formulate feasible operating scheduling solutions for the best silting and scouring effect.Regulating the brake orifice discharge is playing an important role in scouring the silt and protecting the port.
