Investigation on Positions of Fuel Injection of RBCC Engine in Scramjet Mode

For realizing ejector mode, ramjet mode and scramjet mode operating in a single flowpath, and validating the adaptability in multi-modes, the combustion organization and control of fuel injection for the existing two dimensional (2D) combustor in scramjet mode was carried out by the numerical simulation involving three-steps reduced chemical kinetic model. It was indicated that with fuel-pylon injection, the reliable ignition and steady combustion of the RBCC engine in scramjet mode could be achieved by using the strut-rocket as the way of ignition source and flame stabilization! As the primary injection was fuel-pylon injection, with assistance of strut and isolator injection, better combustion organization and engine performance could be obtained;The injection quantity in the isolator should be controlled when the fuel-pylon was embedded in the flowpath.
