Ordinary Portland cement is widely used cementitious material but is not eco-friendly. On the other hand, industrial wastes such as fly ash and bottom ash need to be more effectively utilized because they are produced in large volumes. In the present study, a concrete is produced by fully replacing Portland cement with fly ash and bottom ash. These source materials need to be activated by alkaline solutions. The alkaline liquids used in this study are solutions of potassium hydroxide and potassium silicate. An ambient curing technique was adopted, which allows its use for practical purposes. A parametric study was carried out to evaluate the effect of different parameters on the compressive strength of this geopolymer concrete. After achieving the compressive strength required, the concrete was also checked for split tensile strength and flexural strength and the results were slightly reduced when compared to the same grade of concrete formed from ordinary Portland cement.
