Damage from Waves, Surges and Overtopping at Vertical Seawalls

Overtopping discharges at seawalls in Devon and Cornwall have been computed using sea water levels and wave conditions of a very destructive Storm which occurred in October 2004 and caused significant damage along this coastline. The wave height at the locations of several seawalls was computed using a series of MIKE 21 nested models. Seven sites were studied: Exmouth, Dawlish, Hannafore, Porthpean, Portmellon, Newlyn and Gorran Haven.
