The characteristics of the massive Cubipod armour unit are compared to those of the conventional cubic block. Results are presented from 2D and 3D hydraulic stability and overtopping tests at different laboratories. Both single-layer and double-layer Cubipod armours are much more stable than conventional double-layer cube armours in the trunk Double-layer Cubipod armour in the roundhead is also more stable than conventional double-layer cube armour, but the advantage is not as decisive as in the trunk.
