Passengers-oriented railway and Inter City Rail Lines have been developed rapidly during the past years. Major changes have been taken in comprehensive transportation system. From experience of developed countries, high speed railways are more volume based, efficient, safe and comfortable among other means of transportation for inter city or mid-distance tours. It has absolute advantage to bring more social and economic benefits. However, performance for high speed railways in operation is not as expected due to not considering private cars as its main competitors when setting the pricing. High price for high speed railways make it lose the price advantage to private cars. This article makes in-depth research for current pricing mechanism and average expense for private car mid to long distance. It proposes the pricing mechanism based on the average tour expense for family private car and make it testified for its rationality.
