Purpose: the purpose is to know the influence of different educational models on the humanistic care ability of the undergraduate nursing students and the other relevant factors, and to propose strategies of humanistic care education to the nursing students in clinical practice. Method: 145 undergraduate nursing students from 7 comprehensive upper first-class hospitals from 5 cities are taken as survey object Some students are instructed under "whole course supervisor system" and some are taught with the traditional "one-for-one" model. The students' humanistic care ability is investigated through questionnaire and web survey. Result: The undergraduate nursing students cannot fully understand the concept of humanistic care during clinical practice, and they lack correct guidance. The score of the humanistic care ability is generally low. There is no significant difference in scoring between the nursing students from different areas, and no significant difference in scoring with different teaching models. Discussion: The nursing teaching to the undergraduate in clinical practice should be transited gradually to "whole course supervisor system". Based on the factors that influence the humanistic care ability of the students, the hospitals should enhance continuing education to the teaching nurses and prompt them to change notions, so as to better guide the undergraduate nursing students to establish the idea of humanistic care and enrich humanistic knowledge.
