摘要

Geometry-based errors, caused by unaccounted nonlinearities introduced by five-axis machine tool kinematics, represent an important source of CAM-originated errors in surface machining. The current study proposes limitation of the geometry-based errors in linearly interpolated motions of the cutter along the tool path through circular arc approximations of the ideal pivot point trajectory. Numerical simulations performed on a sample freeform surface confirmed the effectiveness of the developed interpolation technique.
