A composite Ni-modified La_(0.6)Sr_(0.4)Fe_(0.8)Co_(0.2)O_3 / Ce_(0.9)Gd_(0.1)O_2 electrocatalyst was investigated for the autothermal reforming (ATR) of methanol, ethanol, glycerol and propane. The catalyst was also investigated as anode for the direct utilization of such dry fuels in solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) and the performance results achieved for the direct utilization of such fuels appear promising for SOFC application in remote and micro-distributed energy generation as well as for portable power sources.
