Given current conflicts and the ever-impending threats to our nation,it is imperative that the Department of Defense understand the ballisticvulnerabilities of our Army’s vehicles. To assist in this understanding, the Army Research Laboratory (ARL) Survivability /Lethality AnalysisDirectorate (SLAD) analyze the ballistic vulnerability of fielded andfuture combat vehicles. To conduct these vulnerability analyses,ARL/SLAD uses the MUVES-S2 model. MUVES-S2 analyses requiredata to characterize the ballistic threat, target, and the interaction ofthese two. This paper will provide an overview of the process andimpact of analyzing ballistic vulnerability of ground combat vehicles.
