This presentation discusses the analysis of mooring systems in which two ships are moored alongside each other and one or both vessels are moored to a pier or at a spread mooring. Examples are lay-berth moorings and offshore lightering moorings. Mooring analysis of a single vessel mooring is easy, sometimes done by hand calculation or spreadsheet, preferably done with a specialized computer program. Mooring analysis with two ships moored to each other is much more difficult.
