摘要

Ocean currents and surface waves may induce serious errors in oceanographic measurements obtained from moored and drifting buoy systems. A general, computationally efficient solution for the dynamics of moored buoy systems, free drifting buoys, and drogued buoy systems in three-dimensional space is described in this report. Time-domain computer simulations of four specific configurations in various environments are presented. The mathematical model of one of these configurations, a subsurface mooring, was evaluated and improved using full scale ocean test data. The model of the surface mooring configuration studied will soon also be evaluated using recent test data. (Author)
