Design and Construction of the Mon- Fayette Expressway Bridges - Uniontown to Brownsville, PA

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission has adopted several guiding principles for the design andconstruction of 37 bridges within the rugged terrain of the 17 mile segment of the Mon-Fayette Expressway fromUniontown to Brownsville, PA. This has resulted in the construction of many unique, aesthetic and signaturestructures including several high level viaducts, a special structure crossing the historic National Road (U.S. 40), and amajor crossing over the navigable waters of the Monongahela River.
