In a car crush, it is necessary to control the impulsive force acting on a baby laid in a child bed in a vehicle to be constant and under the allowable value in order to reduce the collision shock and a risk of injury. Therefore, an inverted pendulum style active child bed is proposed. Not only is it reducing the impulsive force acting on the baby in a car crush, it makes the force act on the baby from the back, that is to say, the force act on the bed perpendicularly. Then, the effectiveness is confirmed by the numerical simulation. The result reveals that the inverted pendulum style is effective for the shock protection in the vehicle where moving displacement of the bed is limited. And it is also clarified using the mechanism analysis software that the force acting on the bed can be controlled to the desired constant value depending on the collision velocity, and the force is smaller than the case that the bed is fixed on the vehicle seat.
