We review a set of hydrogel, microfabrication, and block polymer studies aimed constructing a miniaturized implantable glucose sensor that can be queried by remote radio frequency (RF) stimulation. The device features integration across the supramolecular, nano- and microscales, with no internal power source or transcutaneous components. The device can be modified to provide simple, closed loop insulin delivery.
