摘要

Interaction and uptake of novel pi,3-D-glucan microparticles was studied in an in vitro M-cell model of human intestinal Peyer's patch. The construct was based on a co-culture of human Caco-2 monolayers co-cultured with human Raji B lymphocytes in the basolateral bath. Following validation of conversion to M-like cells, confocal microscopy confirmed a high degree of uptake of fluorescently-labelled glucan microparticles within epithelial cells. Glucan-based microparticles have potential to be a promising oral delivery vehicle that may be used for oral vaccine and siRNA delivery.
