The problem of distributed multi-sensor management is described. The target threat level function and the matching function are defined to calculate the sensors' efficiency function against targets. By gray relational grade it assesses the target threat level according to the type of target, target distance, target distance variability, target firing advantage, lethal ability, and target mobility. Then it provides the improved genetic algorithm's application in distributed multi-sensor management including coding, fitness function and simulation. At last, it takes an example to illustrate the improved genetic algorithm's applicability in distributed multi-sensor management. The simulation shows that the algorithm is valid in distributed multi-sensor management.
