In this study, a method named carrier-mediated hollow-fiber liquid-phase microextraction (CM-HFLPME) was proposed. The simultaneous trace analysis of aniline and catechol in real water were completed using the proposed method prior to gas chromatography. Experimental parameters such as extraction solvent kinds of carrier, carrier concentration, extraction time and ionic strength of the sample were assessed and optimized. Finally, the enrichment factor (EF), limit of detection (LOD) and precision of the method for aniline and catechol were evaluated. The relative standard deviations (RSDs, n=5) of 3.5% and 5.8% with good relative recovery of 99.3% and 102.8%, high EF of 32 and 25, LOD of 13 and 3.7 μg/L were achieved respectively. The results demonstrated that the proposed method would be a competitive alternative sample preparation procedure for trace analysis.
